Megan Tye Stallion by honoring late parents with an inaugural services gala

Megan Thee Stallion pays tribute to her parents in a sincere way that makes a real difference.
On Wednesday, July 16, the rapper winner of a Grammy welcomed the very first gala of the Pete & Thomas Foundation in Gotham Hall in New York.
The event collected more than $ 1.2 million, all towards causes such as education, housing, health and well-being.
Speak with PEOPLE During the event, Megan thought about the pride that she believes that her parents would be the way she has taken.
“I feel like they can see what I’m doing right now,” she said. “I feel like they are looking at me from the sky, and I have the impression that they say to themselves:” Yes, girl. “”
With emotion, she continued: “I have the impression that my mom is so happy. I have the impression that she applauds. I have the impression that my great-grandmother is so happy. I have the impression that my dad is like:” This is exactly what I knew that my child was going to do. “So yes, I feel like I am super proud.”
The Pete & Thomas Foundation, which Megan launched in 2022, is appointed in honor of his father, Joseph Pete Jr., who died at only 15 years old, and his mother, Holly Thomas, who died of brain cancer in 2019.
The Foundation focuses on supporting poorly served communities, especially women, children and the elderly in Houston and beyond.
According to the Foundation’s website, their programs are rooted in “education, housing, health and well-being and good will of the community”.
Megan also made the headlines in the gala for leaving the red carpet with her boyfriend, the NBA star, Klay Thompson. This marked the official beginnings of the couple’s red carpet after sharing their relationship earlier this month.
