Former Indian Window Guiche, Dinesh Karthik, praised the young striker Tilak Varma for his winning blow in the Asia 2025 Cup final against Pakistan in Dubai on September 28. Chasing 147 for the victory, the men in blue disappeared at 10/2 when Tilak came out for Bat.
The score quickly became 20/3, Sanju Samson joining Tilak in the middle. However, the latter posted an enormous resolution throughout the sleeves, ending undefeated on 69 from 53 deliveries.
His heroism helped India finally win a victory held at five titles with two balls to lose.
Speaking of the heroism of Tilak Varma in the post-match show on Cricbuzz, Karthik said (13:33):
“Tilak Varma is a very special talent. His grandeur does not reside in his ability to play shots, it is only a facet of his game. His ability to understand situations and react accordingly is what Rohit Sharma meant when he said that Tilak is an all-format player.”
He added:
“He understands what it takes to be a champion. And today has been an excellent example on the reasons why you have to invest in him. He is a guy of the average order, so there will still be no opportunities. But there will be times when a boy like this must find a way of doing so for the team. He had to avoid many other things and show knowledge of the situation.”
Tilak finished the tournament with 213 points at an exceptional average of 71 and a strike rate of more than 131 in seven outings.

Dinesh Karthik congratulated Shivam Dube for playing a crucial blow in the last stages of the famous victory of India in the Asian Cup final over Pakistan. The big left -hander marked 33 deliveries of 22 deliveries with two limits and maximums each to relieve the pressure on Tilak Varma.
“He did not play in the last match. Then he arrives here, Bowls with the new ball while Hhelik Pandya is released and he is subjected to a lot of pressure as Allrounder.
