Normally, if you see a Marvel actor taking off their clothes, it’s because you downloaded the wrong Avengers movie. But Milana Vayntrub, who almost played Squirrel Girl in a canceled MCU pilot and continued to voice the character for years, is now tastefully and risk-takingly selling photos of herself and donating all the proceeds to charity.
AT&T Girl reaches out and touches someone
Most remember Milana Vayntrub as the quirky AT&T girl (or Lily) because of a series of iconic commercials, and some may know her for her acting roles in films like Werewolves Inside. Marvel fans, however, best know her for almost becoming Squirrel Girl in the MCU. She was chosen to play the character of a pilot of a New Warriors show for Freeform, but they passed on the series; since then, however, Vayntrub has voiced the character in the Marvel on the rise show and later voiced the character on the underrated Sirius XM podcast Marvel’s Squirrel Girl: the unbeatable radio show.
Although she’s primarily associated with Marvel, Milana Vayntrub recently did something Disney would probably frown upon: taking racy photos for money. She was doing it to raise money for victims of the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year. Instead of doing something traditional like creating a calendar, the actor took a sort of “what if OnlyFans was PG-13?” approach.
Donations starting at $69
Vayntrub made her fans a simple offer: They could send her a donation of at least $69 (which she cheekily described to TMZ as “a funny number”), and they would receive a racy photo directly from the actor. She worked for a third-party company with the aptly named Only Philanthropy, and fans had the chance to get more naughty content from her by making larger donations. However, she made it clear that she would not take any nude photos of herself and would donate all proceeds to survivors of the wildfires ravaging Los Angeles.
Despite the lack of nudity, Milana Vaytrub’s photos (which she describes as “tasteful and sexy and risky”) sold like gangbusters, and she raised more than $170,000. That inspired her to try again, and over the summer she raised more than $350,000 for My Tribe Rise, a nonprofit designed to help people with disabilities, seniors and the uninsured.
Saving the world (one naughty image at a time)
It’s true, true believers: This sexy Marvel star raked in over half a million dollars selling naughty photos of herself, and she did it all for a good cause. According to a recent interview with TMZ, she’s not done either and plans to host similar fundraisers in the future. It’s a fresh approach that we can’t imagine Kevin Feige would ever approve of, so perhaps it’s for the best that Milana Vayntrub has been kept out of the MCU.
Yet she will always be Squirrel Girl to us, and we will always wonder what it could have been like if she had become an official part of the MCU. In the meantime, we can just do our best to help the actress and donate to the next good cause she’s championing.
