Marvel will again jump San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H this year

Doctor Doom already destroys things in the Marvel cinematographic universe. He has his eyes on the Fantastic Four, Avengers, and now with his film, Avengers: DoomsdayHaving been pushed until December 2026, he also took a big bite from San Diego Comic-Con. Marvel Studios will not have one of its Hall H signature panels this year.

The news was reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Io9 then confirmed by a source at Marvel Studios. The reasoning is quite understandable. Avengers: Doomsday was to be released in May 2026 but was now released in December 2026. This means that there will be a completely different comic-con-con. With the casting that now films this film, the studio must have had the impression that it simply could not deliver on the successful panels of the past. And so it takes the year of leave.

This is not the first time that Marvel Studios jumps Hall H either. In 2011, 2015, 2018 and 2023, the studio jumped because the films were too busy with production or there was simply not enough concrete new to share in order to respect the studio standard. And do not be mistaken, Marvel has high standards with regard to Hall H. Whenever there is a panel, it becomes the biggest event of the weekend, and after the panel of last year which resulted in the revelation of the Russos for two Avengers The films, as well as Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, would have been difficult to follow whatever happens.

So this is the case here. There is only one film in production, which has already been delayed to give filmmakers more time, so take a week off to promote a film in 18 months without sequences seems certainly excessive. Especially when it could come back next year with images, actors and perhaps even news from what the future has so in store for us.

This does not mean that Marvel will not be at all at Comic -Con in 2025. Other branches of the company will have panels for comics, games and more – and with The Fantastic Four: First steps Opening in theaters during comics, there will be a large presence on the floor of the convention, including an immersive stand. Marvel also promises “other surprises”, which could mean almost everything. Don’t forget, last year, Deadpool and Wolverine Open during Comic-Con, so the studio showed the film at Hall H. Maybe it could happen?

In addition, fans looking for Marvel Convention News will not have to wait a long time. It will be at CCXP in Mexico this weekend with news and images on Fantastic Four.
