Smriti Mandhana confirmed in her first official statement that she and Palash Muchhal have decided to call off their marriage. She said she usually keeps her personal life private, but felt it was necessary to clarify the situation.

“Over the past few weeks there has been a lot of speculation surrounding my life and I think it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person and I would like to keep it that way but I must clarify that the wedding is off,” Mandhana said on Instagram.

Mandhana requested that people stop discussing this issue and respect the privacy of both families during this difficult time. The left-hander added that she wanted to concentrate on her cricket.

“I would like to close this matter here and implore all of you to do the same. I ask that you respect the privacy of both families at this time and allow us the space to process and move forward at our own pace,” she added.
