Mark Wahlberg says Christmas in his house is more about togetherness than extravagance.
The actor shared a glimpse into his family’s holiday season during a recent interview with Additional.
“We love movies a lot. We’re always together during the holidays. That’s the time we have to be together,” he told the magazine. “It’s mandatory… We can have breakfast together, lunch together, and dinner together.”
He called it a rare opportunity for him, his wife Rhea Durham and their four children to slow down and spend uninterrupted time together.
Although meals are a key part of the routine, Wahlberg admitted that he isn’t very involved in the kitchen. He and Durham, who married in 2009, share four children, including Ella, 22, Michael, 19, Brendan, 17, and Grace, 15.
The actor is currently promoting The Family Plan 2a holiday-themed sequel in which he stars alongside Michelle Monaghan.
During a joint interview, the two men reflected on the pressure families can feel when comparing themselves to others.
Wahlberg emphasized how difficult it can be to separate reality from what appears online and how easy it is to get caught up in comparisons, which Monaghan agreed.
