Maresca deplores the American heat of Marsca as Chelsea is preparing for the final group game
The director of Chelsea, Enzo Maresca, admitted that his team had trouble preparing for matches at the club World Cup properly due to the extreme heat that is currently sweeping the east coast of the United States.
With temperatures that skyrocketing Philadelphia, where the blues are ready to play Tunis in their latest group group game, Maresca says that it has become practically impossible to train in normal conditions.

“It is almost impossible to train a complete session due to the weather,” Maresca told journalists at a press conference before the unmissable match.
With the heat index in the city reaching 108 degrees Fahrenheit (42.2 Celsius), the conditions prove to be an important obstacle, not only to the performances of the players, but even to the basic logistics of the preparation of the matches.
Chelsea’s most recent training sessions have been deliberately shortened in order to preserve energy and avoid exhaustion before their next match.
“We are trying to save energy for the match. This morning was very short, just planning tomorrow, that’s all. No more than that,” said Maresca.

“It is not easy with these temperatures, but we will give our best tomorrow to reach the next step in the competition.”
Philadelphia declared a thermal emergency in response to dangerously high temperatures, which should persist until Wednesday evening.
In response, local authorities have opened air -conditioned public spaces, including libraries and community centers, and have launched a medical assistance line with professionals to help heat related health problems.
For Chelsea, the conditions added a difficult layer to a tournament already filled with pressure. The team tries to recover from a disappointing defeat of 3-1 against Flamengo and now needs a result against ES Tunis to avoid elimination.

But with extreme time affecting all aspects of the preparation, the Maresca team has had no choice but to adapt to the fly.
The heat affected more than Chelsea. Several competition teams have expressed concerns about the intense climate and wider playing conditions.
Borussia Dortmund, for example, kept its substitutes inside the locker room during the first half of their recent match due to unbearable temperatures.
The club World Cup is organized in several American cities, many of which are faced with record heat which now causes wider questions about the preparation of sites for the world cup next year, which will also take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
