David Duchovny gets honest about his new role

David Duchovny loved being the on-screen monster in Malice.

David made his comeback on television with thriller series, Malice, in which he plays Jamie Tanner. The series follows a guardian named Adam Healy, who enters the Tanner household with the aim of destroying the family. Jamie becomes his main target.

THE X-Files the star said People, “It makes me sick as a person, but it’s fun to play as an actor because it’s foreign to my way of thinking. That’s the challenge of [it]”.

He continued, “It’s almost like playing a monster, and it’s fun to play a monster. But he doesn’t think of himself as a monster, and you can’t do that either.”

“He’s a guy who, even though he has all this power and certainty and money, there’s an episode of actions that he took in the past that resonate and come back to haunt him,” he explained.

Playing such a character while making him seem human was an interesting challenge for David.

He thought, “Can I succeed and make him a human being?” A real human being?

“I hadn’t played against a guy like that,” he shared. “It’s just that tingle you feel, like, ‘Oh, here’s a challenge I like.’ “

Alongside David Duchovny, Malice also stars Carice van Houten, Phoenix Laroche and Teddie Allen.
