Man United star Bruno Fernandes congratulated after victory at Crystal Palace

Journalist Samuel Luckhurst praised Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes’ performance against Crystal Palace.

Man United came from a goal down to win 2-1 against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

After the defeat to 10-man Everton at Old Trafford on Monday, Ruben Amorim wanted a response from his team and that’s exactly what he got.

Although the Red Devils went a goal down when Jean-Phillipe Mateta scored a first-half penalty, two goals from the Premier League giants in the second half saw United return to winning ways.

After recent draws against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham and defeat against Everton, Amorim’s side were desperate for a win and in their difficult away game against Palace they showed their courage and determination to put their poor form behind them.

Bruno Fernandes was the architect of Man United’s victory

Goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount, two players who joined the Red Devils with high expectations but never quite lived up to the demands of being a Man United player, changed the trajectory of the match. Both were assisted by Fernandes.

Luckhurst posted on X how crucial Fernandes was for the Amorim team today.

“Fernandes is (again) the epitome of a true United player today. He rants and raves (but constructively) as he points his teammates in the right direction, performs at an intense level and contributes to both goals.”

Man United needed this performance from Fernandes. Another defeat would have left them in the bottom half of the Premier League table, but this crucial victory now takes them to 6th in the Championship.

They’re still a long way from where they want to be, but it’s still progress under Amorim.

All they have to do is find consistency and ensure positive results as the end of year holidays approach.

Despite their struggles and problems this season, they can still finish in the top four of the Premier League and after their 15th place finish last season, this would be a huge step forward for Amorim and his team.
