Manchester United would have again watched the central midfielder in Barcelona, Frenkie de Jong, who has already been on their radar.
The Red Devils signed a brand new three -summer front this summer while Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko joined, but there is still work to do on other regions of their team.
It seems that the UTD man could now pass in the midfield, with Jong an upgrade on Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte.
The Dutch international was one of the best targets of Erik Ten Hag when he was in charge, as BBC Sport and others reported, and it seems that Ruben Amorim is also a fan.

According to the former scout United Mick Brown, addressing Football Insider, by Jong could be one to monitor for the MUFC if it is not suitable for a new contract with Barça.
“Man United has tried to sign from Jong before,” said Brown.
“When he was in Ajax, they watched him but he chose to go to Barcelona, and since then, they also tried to sign him from Barcelona but have never been able to agree with an agreement.
“He’s a very good player, he showed it again when he played against Newcastle, I thought he had a very good game.
“So that does not surprise that Man United is looking at him again, they feel that he would add something in the midfield that they do not have at the moment.
“Everyone knows that Murim wants a new midfielder and he was the one they like the look.”
Can the transfer of United SEAL de Jong?
He added: “If they can conclude an agreement will depend on Barcelona, if his contract talks have delayed, then maybe he could take a step and take advantage of it.
“It seems that it will be to him, if he has a gesture, he will examine his options and Man United will be among them, but otherwise he could decide to stay in Barcelona.”
A problem, however, is that Mundo Deportivo reported that De Jong seemed ready to stay and sign a new agreement at the Nou camp.
We will have to see if it turns out to be precise, but in any case, it seems likely that De Jong or similar players appear on the list of United in the coming months.
