Man United discuss Salvador Blopa transfer

Manchester United are reportedly holding internal discussions over a possible move for Sporting Lisbon’s highly-rated young player Salvador Blopa.

The 18-year-old Portuguese youth international has become a regular in Sporting’s first team this season and has already shown his importance by scoring two goals in six appearances in all competitions.

There isn’t much information to work with at the moment, but Man Utd have been linked with an interest in Blopa, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

Whether this will turn into something more concrete for the Red Devils remains to be seen, but Blopa certainly looks like an exciting prospect who will continue to attract interest from bigger clubs.

Blopa is a versatile young talent, capable of playing at right back or as a winger, and he is already making a strong impression at Sporting’s senior level.

The Portuguese giants have often brought in top talent from their academy, including the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo and another all-time great in the form of Luis Figo.

More recently, Paris Saint-Germain left-back Nuno Mendes is another to have played at Sporting, alongside Geovany Quenda, who will join Chelsea next season.

Blopa hopes to follow in their footsteps by scoring a big win, but it remains to be seen how concrete or advanced that is at the moment.

One imagines, however, that a right-back, or even a winger due to Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation, could make sense as one of United’s priorities, with Blopa potentially looking like the ideal fit for that system.
