Man United boss Amorim hails Senne Lammens’ impact

Rúben Amorim has offered a resounding vote of confidence to young goalkeeper Senne Lammens, praising the Belgian’s temperament and impact during a delicate period for the club.

Amid persistent noise about the goalkeeping hierarchy and external speculation about possible changes between positions, Amorim highlighted Lammens’ ability to stay calm, adapt quickly and play with a maturity beyond his years.

For a team trying to stabilize its results while refining its identity, the manager’s public support indicates that Lammens has become a trusted figure in a high-pressure role.

The goalkeeping position has been a big source of concern for the Red Devils recently.

Man United finally have a reliable goalkeeper

Both Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir made high-profile errors at the club that cost them crucial points.

However, the arrival of Lammens ensured the stability of the Red Devils at the goalkeeper position.

Amorim admitted that he himself had been pleasantly surprised by the way Lammens had handled the situation.

“Senne Lammens was great. His impact surprised me a little, because it’s tough at the moment for our club and all the speculation around our goalkeepers… he handled the pressure very well,” explained the manager, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

Man United are going through a volatile period marked by intense scrutiny over who should wear the No.1 shirt.

At the start of the season, Bayindir had the manager’s trust but since the signing of Lammens, Amorim has changed his mind.

Lammens offered the two qualities coaches look for most in their goaltender: reliability and clarity. Amorim distilled it succinctly: “He’s really calm.”

This composure translated into better decision-making. In possession, he showed the courage to split the center halves and press, giving the midfielders the extra time they need to find space and allowing the team to play through the front line rather than settling for long clearances.

With a calmer presence behind them, the defenders looked more confident when engaging, and the full-backs were able to continue without fear of being exposed in transition.
