Made by Google’s star was not Pixel 10. It was Jimmy Fallon

Move, Pixel 10 – This week’s star made by Google Keynote was Jimmy Fallon.
In a deliciously surprising decision, Google explained the Tonight Show host to execute its fall material event. Usually, during events like these, they are launched by the CEO of the company and we obtain a series of product updates and, if we are lucky, live demos. They are always interesting, but Fallon did what I had already considered impossible: he has made a technological event amusing.
During the first 10 minutes of the opening, Fallon brought his emblematic energy and excitement, laughed at the absurdities of a technological event and inaugurated an authenticity which, frankly, generally lacked technological CEOs which generally launch this kind of event. As a swiftie, he made me almost immediately when he called the Pixel equipment today Drop a “album announcement Taylor Swift for the Nerds”. (He is right, by fact.)
During the Made by Google event, the company abandoned many new equipment, including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 2A Earbuds and Pixel Watch 4. All new Pixel devices are available to pre -order now.
Fallon was not the only celebrity to make a surprise appearance. The show started with a video “I passed the phone on the phone that started with Alex Cooper and included Lando Norris, the Jonas Brothers and Steph Curry. Curry apparently uses Gemini AI for basketball, just like Norris, and the Jonas brothers started their new video clip filmed entirely with the new cameras and tools of the Pixel 10.
But none of these guests compared to Fallon, who did not act as perhaps the very first Hype Man for Pixel Hardware, shouting the names of functionality like Adrienne Lofton, vice-president of Google product marketing, presented the new devices. We also had a taste of Fallon’s late evening show in an intimate living room with two chairs and a podcast microphone, where he launched the Rick Osterloh interviewing event, senior vice-president of platforms and Google devices, on the future of Pixel phones.
Google’s decision to include these people is one of the most intelligent redesign I have seen. Having Fallon hosting the opening speech meant that we obtained so much less jargon. While technology enthusiasts and experts commonly speak in fashion and concepts such as wall gardens, Fallon gave Google the possibility of explaining why these updates count for users of real pixels – something that can sometimes get lost as product representatives perform all the new upgrades of traditional Keynotes.
All new hardware and software falls in recent years have focused on AI. He came to the point where CNET and other technological points of sale began to count the number of times the company said “IA” during its developer conferences. This number was regularly three -digit. While technological companies, including Google, push us to integrate AI into our daily life and to delegate our banal tasks and critical thinking, it was refreshing to bring a little humanity to this next generation of technology.
Jimmy Fallon, if you or one of your employees end up reading this, let me speak in the name of all of us technical nerds and say: THANKS.
And Apple, you have a month to nail Stephen Colbert for your iphone 17 event.
