Petal’s Lament is an exploration quest that you can find while exploring Kaifeng Town in Where Winds Meet. You meet a roadside NPC trying to win the heart of a noble and she will ask you to help her solve a poem. Completing this quest will give you Echo Jades, Coins, Kaifeng Exploration, and Swinging Jade.

Petal’s Lament quest location
The Petal’s Lament quest unlocks automatically when you enter the southern part of the Velvet Shade area.
Come closer and ask what’s going on
Interact with the NPC named Meng Jiaqi and ask her why she is sad. She will ask you to look at the petals on the ground and solve the puzzle.

Examine the falling petals riddle and visit the flower shop to hear from Young Master Li.
Examine the fallen petals near the carriage before heading to the florist to ask about Young Master Li. Then follow the quest marker and go to the Bamboo Forest to ask about Young Master Li.
Listen to the news from Young Master Li in the bamboo forest
Talk to the rich lady in the Bamboo Forest to get more information about Young Master Li.
Ask Master Li
Go to the roof and talk to Master Li. He will try to flirt with you, but you can ignore his advances.
Return to Meng Jiaqi
Return to Meng Jiaqi to tell her the truth about Master Li. However, she will not listen and will continue to ask you where he is. This will also end the Petal’s Lament quest in Where Winds Meet.
