Liverpool Chasing “Monster” 60 million pounds sterling Isak alternative

Darwin Nunez is held in high esteem in Liverpool. It is perhaps the predilection of the base of fans towards their Uruguayan, once presented as a club man, who kept him on books for so long. Another personality who followed his journey may not receive the same heat, encouragement.
Admittedly, he flattered to deceive his first mandate in the Premier League, scoring only nine goals after being responsible for a main role by Jurgen Klopp, which was secured by the Nunez campaign in the 2021/22 Champions League with Benfica.
It improved the following year, scoring 32 goal contributions in all competitions and raising the Carabao Cup during a year of resurgence for the club and the player. But there was still something missing.
The arrival of the Arne slot machine a new chapter, and that was something that Nunez needed to exploit. However, the 25 -year -old is now for sale after his third term on the Merseyside, having scored only seven goals last season, has awarded only one departure from the League since the day after Christmas.
Sometimes unstoppable; Always unpredictable. But Nunez is a maze even in the interior functioning of his own mind, and a nut too difficult to crack even for the slit.
Liverpool needs a new striker. It’s clear.
Liverpool plans to sign a new striker
It was a surprise when the news broke out on Monday evening that Newcastle United seeks to conclude an agreement for Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Liverpool fans could be excited by this, even if Ekitike was among the best targets of FSG this summer, because he throws the future of Alexander Isak at St. James’ Park in a sort of doubt. Could the two really coexist with a new number for the Magpies?
But the Swedish star is estimated at 200 million pounds sterling, and the Reds could have been inclined to draw their attention to Viktor Gyokerres, who had scored 97 goals during two seasons for Sporting Lisbon.
Unfortunately, Isak’s international teammate is for Arsenal.
However, the list of Liverpool options at the front of the ship extends further than that aforementioned, with one of the most prolific elite shooters of Europe on the radar.
Indeed, according to David Ornstein of athletics, this list has the name of Victor Osimhen on this subject, with desperate Napoli to unload the Nigerian international this summer. A ventilation of his relationship with the Neapolitan outfit led to the departure of the striker on loan to Galatasaray last summer.
Osimhen would have a price in the region of 60 million pounds sterling, and although Galatasaray pushes to seal the 26 -year -old for a permanent agreement, the financial and sports benefits of Liverpool could prevent the sports director that Richard Hughes wishes to take advantage.
Why Liverpool should sign Victor Osimhen
Liverpool knows that Luis Diaz could leave Anfield this summer, Bayern Munich having seen an official proposal overturned and the Colombian hoping to finish a move.
If it goes, Liverpool will have to sign a high cost replacement. This plays in the attractiveness of an agreement for Osimhen, which is relatively affordable.
In addition, he has proven himself through a certain number of years in Ligue 1 and the Italian high flight, in fact winning series A in 2022/23, crowned the player of the year of Italian players after his 26 -goals campaign.
Last season, the Gyokerres, 27, on paper, might have somewhat exceeded his peer of African position, but Osimhen has always forged an astonishing season, and he proved to a higher level that the new recruit of Arsenal, which is older.
In fact, also take Ekitike in the equation, and you can see that Osimhen could really be the one to opt for both.

Liverpool could be frustrated by the ostensible advantage of Newcastle in the race for Ekitike, but the French is a raw and unfinished article, although with a lot of virgin script to write a brilliant career for itself.
But Osimhen is proven, tried and tested. He is one of the best in the company, the statistician Statman Dave even declaring him as “the best striker on the market” earlier in 2025.
Reporting one of Ekitike or Isak is undoubtedly an enticing thought for those of a persuasion of Liverpool, but it is a thought that may not materialize.
And even thus, with views of Osimhen, which is undoubtedly more complete and accomplished than Ekitike at this stage and has the tools to compete with the Talisman of Newcastle on the English coast.
This is what Liverpool needs to stay ahead of the curve. They had high potential. They invested in Nunez. And now, with the International Uruguay, which goes to new pastures, the Reds need someone capable of directing the line with the conviction and the quality of a world class player, ready to throw the glove and challenge Gyokerres, Isak and Erling Haaland for this precious position.
He is a “monster” in the last third, as described by analyst Ben Mattinson, with a physicity of the sinus and a deceptively mobile approach which denotes his relevance in the slot system, willing to exchange and create required, creating a front and changing front line that will overwhelm the submerged adversaries, to keep the defenders to guess.
It would be a mistake to get into the new season with Nutnez always inserted as the first Liverpool striker. Oh, it is highly appreciated and sometimes a chaotic energy package, but the slot machine must be ruthless if it wants to defend its title of Premier League, with rivals reinforcing until this summer. Gyokerres is proof of this.
Fortunately, Liverpool’s head coach had no problem making a difficult call for the greater good of his team so far.
