Liverpool are now very interested in a deal to sign Jean-Matteo Bahoya

Liverpool are now very interested in signing a Bundesliga speedster for a bargain price after missing out on Antoine Semenyo, according to reports.
Semenyo moves closer to Man City move
Although Andoni Iraola has claimed he expects Semenyo to play a role for Bournemouth against Arsenal on Saturday, it is no open secret that the impressive winger is closing in on a move to Manchester City.
The Citizens are set to win what appears to be a hectic transfer race between Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and those at the Etihad in a major boost for Pep Guardiola.
While City rejoice, Liverpool and Arne Slot will regret a missed opportunity. The Reds are in desperate need of another attacking addition following Alexander Isak’s injury and amid Mohamed Salah’s AFCON duties. But Semenyo will not be that man.
The big question now is whether this is the case for Liverpool in terms of attacking targets. Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes, stubborn as ever, probably won’t make a move unless it’s perfect for the Reds and Semenyo, apparently, right.
Instead, they could look to prioritize a quick move to sign Marc Guehi. The Crystal Palace man is set to become a free agent this summer and that’s when the sharks will start circling. As such, Liverpool are said to be looking for a deal in January in the hope that they can fend off serious interest from across Europe.
But their offensive problem will remain and that could force the hand of Bundesliga star Jean-Matteo Bahoya. According to Anfield Watch, Liverpool are very interested in signing Bahoya and believe they can secure a profitable deal in 2026.
Liverpool very interested in signing Bahoya
The Bundesliga speedster is still only 20 years old and is on the verge of really breaking through rather than currently playing for Eintracht Frankfurt, having started just eight of 15 Bundesliga games.
It’s easy to see why Liverpool are interested, though. After becoming the first player in Bundesliga history to record a speed above 37 km/h last season, Bahoya possesses a unique trait that could add another element to the Reds’ frontline.
Dubbed “a great signing” by U23 signing Antonio Mango this summer, the big question Liverpool must ask themselves is whether Bahoya is ready for such a big move.
It took more than Semenyo: Liverpool lead race to sign £34m talent
Liverpool are ready to respond to opportunities in the January transfer window.
The winger has struggled to produce this season, scoring just three times in all competitions, and there is no indication he would get the game time he needs at Anfield. Simply put, he is someone for the future and not someone who should rush into a Premier League move just yet.
