Liberty seeks to go to defense against sparks

The New York Liberty is in a defensive crisis, and that led to their tumble from first to third place in the standings.
Getting out another difficult projection, Liberty Hope begins to reverse the trend Thursday evening when they welcome Los Angeles sparks when an eight -game games opened.
New York (11-5) has a 2-5 sheet in his last seven games since he won his first nine games. The Liberty granted 71.4 points during its sequence of seasonal opening victories, but grants 90.7 in its last seven, including at least 80 points in six of these games.
New York is trying to avoid losing three games in a row for the first time since a skipping of five games from July 7 to 21, 2022. The reigning champions returned home after winning a 90-81 defeat against Atlanta’s dream on Sunday when they granted 62 points in painting.
Against the dream, the Liberty dragged by 13 at halftime and 20 years. New York allowed Atlanta to draw 52.9% after allowing Phoenix to draw 52.6% in a victory of 106-91 Mercury on Friday.
“It is the defense that kills our transition,” said Natasha Cloud in New York. “When you have to constantly remove the ball from the net, you can’t run freely, you can’t push the pace against them. So it’s just our defense.”
Cloud scored 20 against Atlanta, but Sabrina Ionescu was held at 14 and fired 21.6% (11 out of 51) in the last four games.
Los Angeles (5-12) managed a sequence of four consecutive defeats when he won a victory on the 85-75 road against Indiana fever on June 26. Three days later, the Sparks failed during a 92-85 home defeat against the Chicago sky when they removed the Candace Parker jersey at halftime.
Kelsey Plum scored 22 and scored at least 20 in three consecutive games. It has an average of 20.6 points over the season. Dearica Hamby added 20 points and 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double this season, but the sparks were preceded 31-23 in the fourth quarter when they granted 68.8% shooting.
“I have the impression that we are here,” Plum told Los Angeles Times. “We are young, we lack depth and cohesion. These things take time. I have faith that throughout the season, we will continue to build.”
