Drake apparently teased the release of his upcoming studio album, ICEMAN, with a meme and a cryptic Instagram story. The rapper has not officially hinted at a release date for the long-awaited project.
On January 9, Drake shared an image on his Instagram Story that read “ICEMAN IS DRAKE.” The same day, he shared a series of photos on his profile, including one alluding to “it’s time to move”, as well as a few memes and his own snaps. However, the Toronto rapper didn’t explicitly mention anything about his upcoming album or its release date.
Fans took to X to decode Drizzy’s latest posts, with many believing he was teasing the release of ICEMAN. One user expressed his excitement and wrote:

DJ Akademiks Claims Drake’s ICEMAN Will Do ‘Ridiculous Numbers’ When Released
During his livestream last month, popular hip-hop podcaster DJ Akademiks predicted that Drake would not release ICEMAN in 2025. However, he claimed that it would be “crazy” when it came out and that the album would do “ridiculous numbers.” He said:
“Iceman is going to do ridiculous numbers. It’s going to be crazy.”
Akademiks then predicted the sales figures for Drizzy’s next album and added:
“Drake is going to do 400 to 600. The facts. It’s not a 300 album. It’s not a collaboration with PartyNextDoor. The next album will do 400 to 600. And honestly, you know, if I could control his marketing, he would have done 750 all the time, but 400 to 600.”
Speculation is rife about when the Toronto rapper will release his next, with a date not clearly set. However, Drizzy released three singles from his upcoming album in 2025, including What did I miss?, Which oneand Doghouse. DJ Akademiks spoke about the album’s release last year and said:
“Now, there you go, I don’t believe it will come out this year again. He never knew the date. Like the last two of his albums, he hit the label when he was finished, the same week or the week before it came out. So it’s not like it was planned in advance. So, people have been asking me all year, when is it coming out?”
Additionally, DJ Akademiks claimed that Drake usually decides when to release an album a week or two before, meaning ICEMAN could also be a surprise release. He continued:
“Well, if I tell you that all his other albums, he kind of figured out when it was coming out, like a week or two before. How could you ask me in July? When is Iceman coming out? Or how could you ask me in August, when Drake himself only made these decisions a week or two before? Right?”
However, Drizzy has been doing livestreams where he previewed some of his unreleased tracks from his upcoming album, ICEMAN. His latest album with PartyNextDoor debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 last year.
