Pope Leo XIV called on Thursday for the world to “build bridges” and for peace for “all peoples”, while he was addressed to the crowd on Saint-Pierre square after his election. The new pontiff urged people to “build bridges through dialogue, by meeting, to meet as a single people, still in peace”, before paying tribute to his predecessor, Pope Francis.
