In recent days, President Trump has declared America open for business and the hottest country in the world. Mark these words. He reinvents capitalism. He reinvents capitalism. And the rest of the world believes it. And if you listen to the media cacophony of leftists against Trump, you wouldn’t believe a word of it.
There’s supposed to be this massive wave of pessimism aimed at the president and probably the country as well. And I don’t buy it. And neither should you. To be sure, Mr. Trump’s poll numbers are somewhat underwater, but he is in better shape at this point in the first year of his second term than many other recent presidents. Rasmussen has it down to 47% approval. 51% disapproval. Big deal.
Money is flowing into this country like we have never seen before. Whatever the right number is, $9 trillion, $15 trillion, $20 trillion. This is all remarkable. It is a vote of confidence in the American economy and in the dollar. And our national security policies. Mr. Trump cuts taxes, deregulates business, practices baby drilling and promotes reciprocal fair trade. There was no retaliatory global trade war. There has been a global trend toward fair trade deals with the United States. A big difference.
U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the new factories will create jobs that “will blow your mind” in “Kudlow.”
Stock indices are just shy of hitting records after phenomenal performances this year. The economy could grow close to 4%. That’s more than double what so-called experts believe is possible. Today’s jobs report was twice as strong as expected. Next year, workers will receive several thousand dollars in tax refunds. Already this year, companies large and small are using immediate cost accounting, made retroactive. Buy machines and equipment and build factories.
The border is completely closed. Nearly 2 million people have self-deported. Most streets are safer. Peace breaks out in the Middle East and elsewhere. Something people thought they would never see in their lives.
Peace through strength works. As Ronald Reagan always said, a strong nation at home is a strong nation abroad. Mr. Trump fulfills this mission. I don’t care what the left-wing media says. America is getting better and better.
