La Liga star now dreams of move to Chelsea as BlueCo takes advantage

Levante star Karl Etta Eyong now reportedly dreams of playing for Chelsea and following in Didier Drogba’s footsteps in a major boost for BlueCo.

The Blues are off to a slow but steady start in the Premier League under Enzo Maresca and bounced back from their midweek draw against Qarabag to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge. Goals from Malo Gusto, Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto were enough for the west London side, who extended their current unbeaten run to four games.

Maresca was pleased with his team’s comfortable victory and told reporters: “We are happy with our performance. I was very worried before the match because they are always tricky matches, but in the first and second half we created so many chances and didn’t concede anything.

“Even in the first half I was happy with the performance, and the difference between the first and second half is that in the second we scored goals and in the first we missed many chances.

“You have to be clinical, otherwise the game is always open and anything can happen. In the second half we scored three goals, we could have scored more.”

Heading into the international break in style, those in west London could now take the next two weeks to think about potential January arrivals. It’s a rare day when BlueCo isn’t thinking about the transfer window and potential targets are already emerging before 2026.

The likes of Adam Wharton were mentioned last week, with reports claiming Chelsea were ‘actively in talks’ over signing the midfielder from Crystal Palace. If these reports are to be believed, then the Blues are certainly on the right track. Wharton remains one of the most impressive young midfielders in the Premier League.

Elsewhere, meanwhile, Etta Eyong revealed her ‘dream’ at Chelsea, in a key boost for BlueCo in their pursuit of the Levante star.

Etta Eyong reveals Chelsea ‘dream’

Speaking to GiveMeSport’s Ben Jacobs, Etta Eyong said he dreams of playing for Chelsea, who raced against Manchester United and others to secure his signature. The impressive striker has scored six goals in 12 games so far this season and now wants to follow in the footsteps of Drogba and co. at Stamford Bridge.

“Growing up, Chelsea was the English team I probably watched the most because of Drogba, and Eto’o was there a year ago as well. Chelsea have often signed amazing African players. There are so many big clubs in England, but as far as [joining] Chelsea, why not? It would be a dream for me to play for Chelsea.

At just 22 years old, Etta Eyong very much represents the type of signing Chelsea have made in recent years. It wasn’t long ago that the Blues welcomed Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal and, although it didn’t work out, they could make up for that mistake in 2026 with another in-form La Liga star.

Hailed for her “incredible” campaign by recruiter Jacek Kulig, Etta Eyong is certainly one to watch.
