Kenyan police fire tear gas at mourners during public visit by former Prime Minister Odinga

At least three people have been killed at a Nairobi stadium after security forces opened fire on a crowd gathered to view the body of the late Raila Odinga. The 80-year-old’s remains had been repatriated from India, where he died earlier in the week. Supporters gathered en masse at Kasarani Stadium to pay their respects and accused police of taking an unnecessarily heavy-handed approach.
