Karun Nair joins Dinesh Karthik, Jaydev unadkat in a rare club with a return of testing after 8 years
The 33 -year -old drummer, Karun Nair, returned to the India national cricket team after more than 8 years in the series of current tests against the National Cricket Team of England.
With his return to India, playing Xi when the test of tests against England was opened in Headingley in Leeds on Friday, June 20, Karun Nair joined Jaydev Unadkat and Dinesh Karthik in a unique list.

Karun Nair in India playing XI after 3006 days
The BCCI selection committee had abandoned NAIR on the test side after the 2017 Border-Gavaskar trophy against the Australian Cricket Cricket team at home.
After the ax, he was unable to make a quick return to the Indian team and was constantly ignored by the selectors, with many things that he would never put the test jersey again.
However, Nair has shown great grain and determination and has a version in domestic cricket. He has constantly marked formats in domestic cricket and caught the eyes of selectors.
During the Ranji 2024-2012 season, he scored 863 points in nine games for Vidarbha on average 54 and helped his team win his third title of Ranji Trophy. After his impressive performances, he also obtained an IPL agreement, and he performed well for the Capitals of Delhi (DC).

He returned to the test team after 3006 days (8 years 86 days), which is one of the longest gaps between two test appearances. Nair missed a total of 77 test games between two appearances for India and joined Jaydev Unadkat, Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv Patel in the single list of players who missed 70 or more games between two appearances.

Speaking before his beginnings, Karun Nair said he was keeping things very simple and remains positive.
“I try to keep things very simple, to always think about the positive, to have certain objectives in mind, to visualize things and to believe real in that you visualize. Playing alongside Rahul and Prasidh is also a very comforting factor. We have played cricket for so many years since we were probably young children and have grown up together,” on its website.
“Life has completed the loop because I got out of the team in England and now I come back to the team in England. It’s been a while and I kiss her. My first thought when I woke up (after being abandoned) is that I want to play test cricket, I want to play again for India.
“This is probably what made me move forward, kept me hungry and was the driving force to train and train every day. I had the goal of playing test cricket again. Each day, every morning, I woke up thinking what I had to do to achieve this goal,” he added.
