Former flight coach Derek Dooley presents himself for the American Senate

Former Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley presents himself on the republican ticket for the American Senate in Georgia.
DOOLEY, 57, announced on Monday that he was entering the race in 2026 against the outgoing Democrat Jon Ossoff.
“Professional politicians like Jon Ossoff are the problem,” said Doley in a two -minute launch video. “Anarchy, the season open to the border, inflation everywhere, the awakened things, that’s what they represent. We need a new leadership in Georgia. This is why I run for the Senate.”
Dooley was head coach of volunteers for three 2010-12 seasons, compiling a record of 15-21 with a bowl appearance. He was dismissed after a 4-7 season (1-7 southeast conference).
DOLEY APPROVAL APPROVATION OF THE GOVERNEUR OF THE GEORGIE Brian KEMP but has not yet received an approval cache from US President Donald Trump. The GOP considers that Ossoff, 38, is the most vulnerable democratic outgoing in the running for the re -election of next year.
Dooley was born in Athens, Georgia, where his father, Vince, trained the Bulldogs of Georgia in a national championship in 1980.
Derek Dooley has never held elected functions but said that he would bring the “common sense of old -fashioned Georgia” to work.
DOOLEY displayed a file of 17-20 in three seasons to Louisiana Tech (2007-09) before fighting in Tennessee. After his visit to Knoxville, he worked on coaches of Cowboys of Dallas (2013-17), Missouri (2018-19), Giants of New York (2020-21) and Alabama (2022-23).
He tries to follow a path similar to Washington, DC, as an old university football coaches Tommy Tuberville d’Auburn and Tom Osborne from Nebraska. Tuberville was elected to the Alabama Senate in 2020 and Osborne served three mandates in the House of Representatives.
