Jenna Bush Hager Reveals New ‘Today’ Show Name as Permanent Co-Host

Sheinelle Jones became Jenna Bush Hager’s permanent co-host on the show Today to show.

Jones replaced Hoda Kotb nearly a year after leaving the show as co-host. The announcement was made on December 9 that Jones would join Jenna Bush Hager as a permanent co-host of the 10 o’clock show.

On the December 9 broadcast, Bush Hager cried as he thanked viewers, then announced Jones as his new co-host. She also revealed that Jones’ first show would be on January 12.

“We have a very special show today. Over the past year, I have had the privilege of co-hosting this show with 60 incredible friends, all of whom opened up to me, inspired me, laughed, cried, made incredible friends and learned so much about myself,” Bush Hager said. “And you, the audience, have been with me through it all, so thank you very much.”

She continued, “Today I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve found my lifelong friend and we’re going to start a whole new journey in January. I couldn’t be more excited to share this person with you all. You all know her, she’s an amazing host. But more importantly, she exemplifies exactly what this show is all about.”

Since Kotb’s departure on January 9, many celebrities have co-hosted the show with Bush Hager. The show was even renamed Jenna & Friends. Guest hosts included Scarlett Johansson, Olivia Munn and Reese Witherspoon.

Now the show has been renamed once again as TODAY with Jenna and Sheinelle.

Sheinelle Jones currently co-hosts the 3rd hour of Today with Dylan Dreyer, Al Roker and Craig Melvin.
