Warrican moved forward while trying to attack, but left a large gap between his bat and pad. The ball hit the off stump perfectly, sending it cartwheeling towards Indian wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel. And Jurel collected the dislodged stump as Warrican was dismissed for just 3 runs from 6 balls.

The crucial wicket put India firmly in control as West Indies lead by just 41 runs on the fourth day of the ongoing second and final Test in Delhi.

Meanwhile, Indian bowlers were left frustrated on day four in Delhi as they failed to take West Indies’ final wicket despite dominating much of the innings. Shai Hope started the session on a high note by completing his third Test century before being dismissed by Mohammed Siraj.

After Hope’s departure, India quickly broke through the West Indies middle order, reducing them from 271/3 to 311/9. Kuldeep Yadav grabbed three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah took two, putting India on the verge of ending the innings early in Delhi.

However, the late pair of Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales held their own against the strong Indian bowling attack in the ongoing final Test in Delhi. The duo displayed strong defense and calm temperament, frustrating the Indian attack who had already been on the field for over 190 overs.

Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales’ partnership spanned fifty runs, marking the first 50-run stand for the 10th wicket by a visiting team in India since Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood’s 55-run stand in Pune in 2017. With their resilience, the West Indies overcame the 100-run lead, ensuring that the Test heads into the final day with the hosts still at looking for that last wicket.

Missed chances, tired bowlers and Gautam Gambhir’s calm smile: India’s story on day four

India’s long day on the field turned into a test of patience as frustration grew with each over to Delhi. Dhruv Jurel had a tough outing behind the stumps, missing a few chances that could have wrapped things up earlier. Jasprit Bumrah also looked far from his best as his movements seemed a little heavier than usual as the routine of consecutive overs began to show.

On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav took an unwanted step, conceding 100 runs in a Test innings for the first time in his career. As the West Indies increased their lead beyond the 100-run mark, the pressure was clearly mounting on the Indian camp.

The bowlers looked visibly tired amid the heat, but Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir looked surprisingly relaxed, unfazed by the criticism swirling in the follow-up call. Cameras captured him laughing with batting coach Sitanshu Kotak.
