Miguel Clears the Air on Baby and Timeline Drama
As previously reported, last month Miguel quietly welcomed a son, Angelito, with filmmaker Margaret Zhang. And, in a recent interview on “The Breakfast Club,’ Miguel kept it real and set the record straight on the rumors surrounding his divorce and the timeline of his son’s birth. Miguel revealed this and Zhang met after his divorce was finalized, at an event they weren’t even supposed to attend. If you didn’t know, Miguel’s longtime romance with Nazanin Mandi began as a teenager, spanning nearly two decades before they married in 2018 and officially separated in 2022.
The R&B singer explained, “What’s fucked up is people start miscalculating. Miguel continued, “The only thing I didn’t do was start a relationship while I was married and then have a baby. I got divorced. I met my son’s mother after our divorce. I met her at an event we weren’t even supposed to attend. It was way after we were done.” Additionally, he said, “I’m proud to be a father. I’m proud of my partner…he couldn’t have a better mother.”
Miguel’s version of the story causes the TL to trigger
The Shade Room comments section was buzzing with mixed reactions to Miguel’s revelations. Some fans felt he was wasting Nazanin’s time after nearly two decades together, while others took the opportunity to remind women not to wait for a man to change. And of course, many kept it real, recognizing that breakups happen and sometimes people grow apart.
An Instagram user @amber.aligns said: “At least she left the situation open. This is the real blessing“
Meanwhile, Instagram user @bella.sylk wrote: “He dragged Nazanin around for years and immediately had a baby with another woman before the ink was dry on the documents.“
While Instagram user @thedededoll added: “He said a bunch of NOTHING but okay😂😂”
And, Instagram user @__anoek__ commented: “Ladies leave, don’t stay 20 years…. Don’t give your life to men“
This Instagram user @Joseydemetria said: “I respect speed [men] move on.. “healing” women is a myth, you are not sick!! Pass!!“
Finally, Instagram user @thehttstgirlevr shared: “The brothers separate. And people find someone new. What’s the problem.“
Now why were people coming for Miguel in the first place?
Let’s see why Miguel had to dispel these rumors, because the timeline had people confused. In October 2022, news broke that his marriage had officially ended – but before that, things weren’t so clear. After announcing their split in 2021, Miguel and his ex were spotted getting back together in early 2022, with cryptic but loving captions like “love heals” And “Proud of us” which led fans to believe a full reconciliation was in the works. In March, they even slipped into The Shade Room to confirm they were working things out. But a few months later, it was officially over — with irreconcilable differences and a prenup sealing the deal.
