India born the executive Shailesh Jejurikar appointed Next P&G PDG: This is what we know about him

Procter & Gamble named Shailesh Jejurikar as a following CEO, marking a rare elevation of a frame born in an Indian at the head of an American business giant. He succeeded Jon Moeller on January 1, 2026, at a time when Titan consumer goods faced the global power.

Jejurikar, 58, is currently head of the farm and will also be appointed to the company’s board of directors at his next meeting of shareholders in October. He joined P&G in 1989 as assistant brand director in India and has since climbed the ranks between divisions and continents.

Its appointment comes as P&G supports the slowdown in sales, the volatile demand for consumers and the pressure of changing trade policies. The company’s shares fell 6.3% this year, underperforming the S&P 500, which increased by 8.6%.

Moeller, 61, who has been CEO since 2021, will go to the executive president. He said the timing was right. “I feel good about the team that will continue to lead us,” he said in an interview, describing the appointment of Jejurikar as “strengthening what we have done”.

Jejurikar has a large experience of supervising the markets of P&G companies – including Latin America, India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia – as well as leadership in basic operations such as IT, sales, manufacturing and new businesses. He also directed the largest division of P&G, Fabric and Home Care, which houses brands like Tide, Ariel, Downy and Febreze, which conduct around a third of the company’s income together.

It is credited with increasing brands on the developed and emerging markets and incorporating sustainability into P&G operations.

Among the challenges that are waiting for him are what Moeller called a “changing regulatory environment” and the “division at a societal, political and geopolitical level” – factors that affect consumer confidence on a global scale.

Jejurikar was born in Mumbai and attended the Hyderabad public school – also the Mater Alma of the CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella. He holds a BA in economics from the University of Mumbai and an MBA from the Lucknow Indian Management Institute.

Jejurikar joined P&G in 1989 as assistant brand manager in India.

His older brother, Rajesh Jejurikar, is also a senior manager – as an executive director at Mahindra & Mahindra. “It is a question of pride for all of us to see the Indians reaching the best levels of the world organizations,” said Rajesh.
