“ In about a month, the Americans will feel what the sanctions are like ”, warns Shankar Sharma
While the slides of the US dollar and global tensions were deepening, a new type of shock could soon strike American citizens – interior economic pain.
Veteran investor Shankar Sharma has warned of X: “Over the next 1 month, the Americans will start to live what economic sanctions look like.” His statement reached an unlikely agreement from investor Samir Arora, who added: “For the first time in recorded history, I must agree with Shankar. In addition, they analyze the results of the end of March and say how good they are / OK when the real drama started in April.”
The context of these comments is a weakened US dollar, now on the right track for its worst first days under a presidency since the era of Richard Nixon. Since Donald Trump’s return to the White House, the dollar index has dropped approximately 9%, the strongest decline for a long-term president since America abandoned the gold stallion in 1973.
Trump’s aggressive prices and attempts to reshape the world trade are making a clicking of investors and global markets. A Bloomberg survey shows that US economic growth forecasts for 2025 have been reduced to 1.4%, compared to 2% earlier, while the risk of recession has increased sharply.
Damage is not contained in American borders. South Korean exports to the United States fell 14.3% in April. The Chinese economy remains strongly dependent on fragile foreign demand, even if its internal growth vacillates. Germany, faced with stagnation, should barely grow this year.
Meanwhile, the IMF has reduced its global growth forecasts to 2.8% for 2025, warning of deeper slowdowns if commercial wars increased.
As global supply chains fragment and inflation pressures increase in the regions of Japan in Brazil, the world recalibbs. Investors, companies and political decision -makers are all preparing for replicas of the interior turn of America.
For the first time in decades, it seems that the financial world is preparing for the Americans to feel the net of the policies that they formerly triggered elsewhere.
