Impossible – the final theory of calculations, explained

Spoilers for “Mission: Impossible – The Last Calculation” Follow.

Ethan Hunt had his last calculation, and “Mission: Impossible – the Last Calculation” has become a victory at the box office. The film is absolutely loaded with Easter eggs, reminders and favorite characters from fans who come back to enjoy their moment behind the sun.

But there is a character whose absence is felt in each context of the very long film: Ilsa Faust by Rebecca Ferguson. Introduced for the first time in “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” by Christopher Mcquarrie as the ultimate flower of Tom Cruise’s spy superstar, Ethan Hunt, Isla won the public with her ultra -compatible spy skills and her inability to bend. The film ended up changing the entire path of the franchise “Mission: Impossible”, and Isla is not a small reason.

This is why when Ilsa died in “Mission: Impossible – Dead Cyloring,” a lot in the audience was as a broken heart as Ethan Hunt. Mcquarrie admitted that it was a “really difficult decision” to lose Ilsa but insisted that it was an important part of Ethan’s story that he is forced to say goodbye.

Since “Final Reckoning” was announced as the final film of the series, many fans have been disappointed to see that we did not have one last moment with Ilsa before Ethan hangs his hat for good. But what happens if, as the expert spy she was, ISSA was just hiding under our nose?

Who is it next to Ethan Hunt at the end of the final calculation?

Just before the credits roll on Ethan’s final adventure, the final remains of the impossible mission force meet at Trafalgar Square to say goodbye before separating. We see Benji, Paris, Theo and Grace farewell to Ethan as he declares the victory over the wicked AI known as the entity.

But while Ethan was moving away, many Eagle fans in Ilsa’s eyes have noticed a mysterious woman with a remarkably familiar hairstyle walking alongside Ethan in the last plan of the film (there are already bootleg images of this floating moment on the Internet, if you are tilting to search for it).

The only thing we know with certainty of this woman is not Rebecca Ferguson. On the one hand, she was busy filming the Apple TV + SCI-Fi series “Silo” at the time when they were “The Final Reckoning”. And also, it would be criminal negligence on the part of Mcquarrie to bring it on the set and not to let it kick an ass like another time.

That said, the resemblance is strange, so much so that it really seems that the filmmakers took a photo of Ferguson walking from a previous “mission” and inserted it digital here. This could be a sneaky Easter egg buried in the last frames of the film, or perhaps it is only a coincidence and it is not at all ILSA / Rebecca Ferguson.

Maybe it’s a case of fans, desperate to see Ilsa again. Or is it a tease of what could come in history “Mission: Impossible”? Only Ethan Hunt can give us the answer to this question, if he chooses to accept his next mission.
