The announcement was made via Maddock Films’ social media channels, where the makers teased fans with a powerful message: “This new year, give yourself courage. The final trailer of #Ikkis releases this weekend in theaters. A new chapter unfolds in legendary director Sriram Raghavan’s debut war film. The true story of India’s youngest Paramveer Chakra awardee, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. Some heroes die young. Make the experience of courage at the cinema #Ikkis releases on January 1, 2026.
Sources close to the production revealed that producer Dinesh Vijan opted for a change in strategy to avoid clashes at the box office, a formula that previously worked wonders for films like Medium Hindi And Chhaava. This decision guarantees Ikkis a clear theatrical career, giving her the spotlight she deserves.
Directed by renowned filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, known for his mastery of thrillers, Shout marks his first foray into the war genre. The film is based on true events of the 1971 Indo-Pak War, telling the heroic story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra for his unprecedented bravery.
Apart from Agastya Nanda, the film has an exceptional cast including Jaideep Ahlawat, Simar Bhatia, Sikander Kher and others. Add an emotional layer, Shout will also serve as a posthumous release for the legendary Dharmendra, making it a cinematic milestone.
