ICC swings in action, sends e-mails to PCB on violations before the water shock

The actions of the PCB in recent days have not gone well with the bosses of the ICC and could soon take them down in difficulty.

The IND vs PAK handshake drama seems set to be taking yet another turn. After the September 14 clash, and Suryakumar Yadav’s move to avoid handshake; subsequently mindless decisions by the PCB could land them in major trouble. As per a report in the Times of India, the ICC has sent a strong-worded letter to the board, over the violations in the Players and Match officials Area (PMOA), in Dubai, during PAK & UAE match.

PCB in Major Trouble After ICC Mail

The report says that the mail has come from ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta, who has raised an objection over the filming in the PMOA area, during the conversation between match referee Andy Pycroft, Salman Ali Agha and Mike Hesson. If that is not enough, they were asked not to do it in the PMOA area, after which the PCB threated to pull out once again.

What has really swung the ICC into action is — PCB’s statement on Pycroft, and the releasing of the video on social media. The ICC did want to clear the confusion, but the board is guilty of making it a big show out of it. For the unversed, the September 17 encounter had started an hour late due to this entire drama.

IND vs PAK Handshake Row Sees Another Turn

After the handshake saga, the events that unfolded from the Pakistani side too, weren’t in the best of taste. They refused to send skipper Salman to the PC after the India game. Then a day before the UAE match, they cancelled the PC, and as per various reports, threatened to leave the tournament.

All this, if their demand of removing Pycroft from the list of referees from the Asia Cup, was not met. That wish was not really fulfilled by the ICC. The apex body believed that the Zimbabwean had followed all the rules and regulations.
