Ibrahima Konaté’s agent speaks with Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich are in talks to sign Real Madrid and PSG defensive target Ibrahima Konate on a free next summer.

The future of Ibrahima Konaté has been the subject of numerous discussions for months. He has entered the final year of his contract at Liverpool and could end up leaving the club as a free agent at the end of the season.

Although the Reds are interested in renewing his contract, they have yet to make significant progress on that front, which is a huge boost for potential suitors. According to Bild via SportWitness, Bayern Munich have become a potential destination for the French central defender.

Bayern Munich plans to recruit Ibrahima Konaté

The German giants are already in talks with the player’s camp as they see him as an ideal replacement for Dayot Upamecano, whose contract is also expiring. While their priority is to extend the 27-year-old’s stay, if he fails to do so, Bayern Munich will push to sign Konate.

Speaking about the Bundesliga giants’ interest in the Liverpool prop, Tobi Altschäffl said: “We can announce this as breaking news: Bayern are in talks with Konaté’s management.

“His contract is expiring and Bayern could sign him for free. We have learned that Konate’s agent is in discussions with Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern. He is an interesting prospect on the market and Bayern are interested.”

Konate has established himself as one of Liverpool’s mainstays under Arne Slot. He is one of the first names on their team sheet, and the Dutch manager is doing everything possible to ensure a new deal is agreed.

However, the Merseyside club may struggle to convince him as Bayern Munich, PSG and Real Madrid are all seeking his signature. Besides the German club, its management also held talks with the French and Spanish giants.

PSG are looking for more quality and competition at the back, while Los Blancos see him as an ideal replacement for Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba, who could leave the club when their contracts expire.
