A big AEW star has just tried his luck in WWE. Now fans have given their opinions on his comments.

Before coming to AEW, Marina Shafir worked with WWE for a few years. She was featured prominently on the NXT brand alongside Shayna Baszler. After Shayna was called up to the main roster, Marina Shafir’s television appearances dwindled until she was finally released from the company in 2021. Since then, she has come a long way and is a constant feature on AEW TV as part of the Death Riders stable with Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, and Wheeler Yuta.

During a recent interview on Close Up with Renée Paquette, Marina Shafir recalled how she reconnected with Jon Moxley. When speaking about her release from WWE, she referred to the sports entertainment juggernaut as “the Fed.” It was a term used to refer to the Stamford-based promotion decades ago. However, it is currently used as a derogatory term for promotion.

“Because you know, I had just been released from the Fed, and I didn’t know what was going to happen.”

Marina Shafir spoke about her goal in AEW

Since joining AEW, Marina Shafir has managed to stand out from the rest of the women on the roster as she is the only female member of the Death Riders. She is also a legitimate threat in the ring due to her MMA background.

During the same podcast episode, Marina Shafir said she’s not flashy in the ring, but she knows how to hurt people, and that’s her goal in AEW.

“I’m not some flashy, creepy toy. I’m a fucking GI Jane character. I’m just very different from the rest of the roster, and I needed to understand that quirk in itself. I’m just learning to fortify that and not, you know, go completely left and start doing shit that I’m not good at. I’m good at fucking people, .. I’m just good at fucking people. I’m good at holding my fucking ground. I have always wanted to get something wild and messy and dirty out of women I feel like that’s my goal here,” she said. [H:T/F4WOnline]
