Bird Blamed for dropping fish on a power line, triggering a “heavy fire” in Canada

Firefighters who found a charred fish in a fire in western Canada believe that a tired bird may be blamed for having triggered the fire.
The Ashcroft, British Columbia fire service was called to respond to a “heavy fire” at around 4 miles south of the city on July 30.
“A rapid investigation revealed the cause of this fire. It was determined to be a fish,” said the department in an article on Facebook, which included images of coverage land and charred fish. “Yes, you read that right, the fish made an incredible trip.”
The nearest river is about two kilometers away, but the investigators determined that the fish was picked up by a fisherman’s Balbuzard, which then dropped it on an electric line halfway.
The sparks of the disturbed line ignited the dry grass below, said the department, speculating that the bird may have dropped its catch because it was tired of excess heat.

The fish was carefully charred after the incident, but the Ashcroft fire service said that the fisherman had had no injury.
In a subsequent Facebook publication, the fire service joked the fact that the fisherman was detained for interrogation.
“The judge did not grant the deposit because the suspect poses an extreme … risk of theft!” The department wrote.
The ministry said that around 4,800 gallons of water had been used to turn off the fire, which burned near the east side of a highway.
