Brooks Koepka plays in the PGA 2025 championship at Quail Hollow after having qualified a previous champion. He won the event three times in 2018, 2019 and 2023, which gives him an automatic place under the PGA of America rules.
Koepka entered the second major of the year after missing the Cup at 2025 Masters. However, his first round Thursday did not go as planned.
He took a difficult start with a double bogey on the 1st hole par-4. Koepka followed him with two consecutive bogeys on the holes 2 and 3. However, he managed to recover slightly with birdies on the holes 7 and 8, but dropped another 9, closing the nine before the peer.
In the nine rear, Koepka made a bogey in the 10th, carded a birdie at 14 and finished the Channel with another Bogey on the 18th. He posted a 4 out of 75 in the first round, placing it equal to the 112nd. He struck five fairways, reached six green regulations, took 29 putts and finished with three birdies, five bogeys and a double bogey.
