A missile launched from Yemen hit the center of Israel on Sunday near the main terminal of the international airport near Tel Aviv. The strike led to a temporary suspension of flights but no death report.
The Israeli army said that several efforts had been made to intercept the missile and that an impact had been identified in the area of Ben Gurion airport. The army added that the episode was being examined.
Israel’s emergency ambulance service said that he was treating two people injured by the explosion and a third person injured during his shelter.
The videos and images published on social networks have shown a large panache of black smoke rising from an open area near Terminal 3, the main international flight terminal, while the sirens groaned and people took place.
A road near the airport seemed to be covered with dirt and bus.
In a statement shortly before the missile attack, Israel’s airport authority said 422 international flights were to arrive or leave on Sunday. After the strike, the airport authority said the flights had been suspended according to the protocol, but that the airport had to start working soon.
The Houthie militia supported by Iran, which pulled missiles over Israel in solidarity with Hamas in Gaza, resumed its launches after Israel put an end to a cease-fire in its war in mid-March. The Israeli army has managed to intercept most missiles, although the missile fragments have frequently fallen through Israel.
