Hilarie Burton reveals the recent major loss of Jeffrey Dean Morgan by Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Hilarie Burton recently opened the emotional challenges behind his surprise The Walking Dead universe. The 42 -year -old actress resumed her role as Lucille, the wife of Negan, on TWD: Dead City In the episode of June 15. Speak with PEOPLEBurton revealed how deeply personal filming experience for her and her husband, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan in the series, and simply managed a major loss of life.
“Please forgive me if I get angry,” said Burton. “I just looked at him. I didn’t see him on Sunday. It was a really difficult episode to shoot.”
The emotional scene featured Negan Hallucinant Lucille after having undergone an injury to the head. Right now vulnerable, the generally hard character broke down, apologizing for not having saved his wife struck by cancer.
According to Burton, fans of raw emotions saw on the screen came from a very real place.
“What people did not know is that, throughout this season, Jeff’s father was dying. He died like six days before shooting this scene,” she revealed. “Watch this man that I love to support this sorrow so much and that I really have to focus at work and hold it together, I don’t cry except that I just looked at him.”
Burton congratulated Morgan’s strength, saying: “It was really, really incredible to look at the person you like the most in the world to do it. He was able to channel a lot of grief that he felt for his father in this episode without dropping anyone.”
Morgan’s father Richard died on July 2 after a brief illness. The Walking Dead team supported Morgan by giving her leave to say goodbye to California before returning to the cinema.
By thinking about timing, Burton noted: “We did not know when we learned that his father was sick that we had to film this scene a few days that saw him for the last time. And we certainly did not know that this episode was going to be broadcast on the father’s day. It was a lot. “
Burton also pointed out how their families helped Morgan throughout the difficult days. Their children, George and Gus, were on the set to support him.
“Our children were there with us and in his trailer lying around, so that he could be silly with them between each catch,” she said. Their 15 -year -old son, Gus, a budding actor, even remained behind after Burton packed to shade the director and be alongside his father.
