Hideki Matsuyama edges Alex Noren in playoff to win Hero World Challenge

Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama outlasted Swede Alex Noren in a one-hole playoff to win the Hero World Challenge on Sunday at the Albany Golf Course in the Bahamas.
Both players closed with sparkling 8-under-par 64s to finish in regulation tie at 22-under-par 266 before Matsuyama won with a birdie on the extra hole.
Austrian Sepp Straka, who entered Sunday with a one-shot lead, posted a 68 to finish a solo third at 21 under, while world numbers one Scottie Scheffler (68) and JJ Spaun (65) shared fourth place at 20 under.
The Englishman Justin Rose (66 years old) finished sixth at 18 years old and the Canadian Corey Conners (65 years old) at 17 years old.
The small, elite field produced low scores throughout the week, but Matsuyama completed a bogey-free final round, including making an eagle on the par-4 10th hole, as he won the exhibition title hosted by Tiger Woods.
