“It’s a great place. We know our audience, we know each other better and we’ve solidified ourselves. We didn’t have a big break between the end of the first season and the start of the second season, so we dove back into it,” McEntire teased. “We bond a lot more. All six of us are very confident and very comfortable with each other – so much so that when we have a guest cast, we feel very comfortable sharing the stage.”
Escobedo said the connection could be felt in the show.
“As we become more comfortable and more connected, we see that in the characters as well,” she added. “Because we feel comfortable with our own characters and each personality becomes a little deeper. You become more interested in that person.”
She continued, “That’s what I’m so excited for everyone to see, is how much everyone’s relationship has progressed to become even more of a whole. It’s so funny.”
McEntire teased We that the stories in Season 2 are even bigger and better, adding, “We’ve progressed and we’ve grown together. We’re a tight-knit family – even though [Belissa and I] are the only ones that are blood related in the series. But I feel like we’re kids who were adopted into a big family called Happy’s Place.
The place of happiness airs on NBC Fridays at 8 p.m. ET before airing the next day on Peacock.
