Hand handle row: ICC rejects the PCB request to remove the Andy Pycroft match referee from Asia Cup | Cricket news

The International Cricket Council (ICC) officially refused the request of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to replace the referee of the match Andy Pycroft at the current Asian Cup. Timesofindia.com reported on Monday evening that an official communication in this regard was being drafted and that she landed on Tuesday morning. The controversy began when PCB expressed dissatisfaction with PyCroft’s participation in a pre-match incident. They said he had asked the Pakistani captain Salman Ali Agha to avoid hand handles with the captain of India Suryakumar Yadav during the draw.
However, the ICC has cleared the air with an official letter. They explained, as reported by Timesofindia.com, that it was in fact the officials of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on the ground who informed Pycroft of the Non-Handshake policy during the draw. This revelation thwarts the previous belief of Pakistan that Pycroft acts under Indian influence.

India had chosen not to shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts after the end of the match in a 7 gates victory for men in blue. After having successfully completed the winning points, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube returned to the canoe and celebrated the victory with teammates. The Pakistani team and coach Mike Hesson tried to shake hands with their arc rivals but met a closed cloakroom door. The next day, PCB questioned the conduct of Pycroft and filed an official complaint with the ICC. The current ACC chief and president of the PCB, Mohin Naqvi, had confirmed the decision to appeal to the world of world cricket. In the letter, PCB said: “It is alarming to note that a match referee appointed and allegedly neutral has chosen to engage in conduct, which clearly violates the spirit of the laws of cricket and MCC.“The referee of the match failed to pay his responsibility: to ensure that respect has been extended and maintained between the captains as well as between the two competing teams; And to create a positive atmosphere by its conduct and encourage captains and participating teams to do the same.“In fact, the instructions of the referee of the match in the two team captains were entirely oriented towards the achievement of the opposite result. This fault violates article 2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for the leaders of the match, which specifically makes it an offense for the referees of the match to behave in a way, which is contrary to the spirit of the game and violates the laws of the MCC.“Given the seriousness, political nature / history and large -scale consequences and repercussions, misconduct also slowed down the game.
