Guillermo del Toro reveals why he cast Jacob Elordi in ‘Frankenstein’

Guillemor del Toro shared what appealed to him about Jacob Elordi and Oscar Isaac and why he chose to include them in the film.
Elordi plays The Creature who is created by Isaac’s Victor Frankenstein, a mischievous and selfish scientist, who decides to defy nature by creating his own living being.
In an interview with the CBS Sunday MorningWhen asked why he chose Isaac and Elordi for the roles, The Shape of Water filmmaker replied: “Eyes. I cast the eyes.”
Del Toro continued: “50% of the movie is watched and 50% of the movie is watched.”
Sharing what he saw in their eyes, the Oscar-winning director added: “Oscar had genius, madness, seduction and pain.”
Meanwhile, Elordi “was completely open. He had in his eyes a completely disarming innocence, openness and purity.”
Speaking of Elordi, he said that when he saw him in Priscilla as Elvis, he had a moment of rage at The Creature and that’s when Del Toro decided to cast him. Frankenstein.
