Google adds what he calls “featured notebooks” to Notebooklm as a way to demonstrate his software powered by AI and offer interactive and high quality resources on everything, personal advice to William Shakespeare. The company tried something similar after its developer conference in May, when it created a laptop formed on everything that was announced at Google I / O 2025.
The new features notebooks have their own dedicated tab on the Notebooklm home page and were created in partnership with “respected authors, researchers, publications and non -profit organizations from around the world”, explains Google. Like all Notebooklm projects, you can interact with the raw sources that make up the knowledge base of the notebook, ask questions about subjects in a chat interface or display a summary generated by AI, an audio preview or a flow table for more means to interact with the content.
The first series of featured notebooks included a notebook on the longevity advice formed on the book Super agersa notebook on 2025 predictions formed on The economist ‘s Annual report “The World Ahead” and a consulting notebook formed on The AtlanticThe column “How to build a life”, among several other options. Your mileage may vary on the useful of each laptop featured – I found that the Shakespeare notebook was the most fun to play with – but everyone is a good representation of the quality and volume of equipment which must be downloaded on Notebooklm to work well.
Google introduced Notebooklm in 2023 as an experience in creating an AI tool that is based on the sources you download, rather than all that the company has managed to scratch the internet. The idea is that discussions on subjects in Notebooklm would be less subject to hallucinations than what an AI preview in Google Search spits. Or at the very least, it would be easier to check the responses of the AI because the source equipment is a click.
NoteBooklm became very popular when Google introduced audio previews in September 2024, podcasts generated by AI on the material downloaded on a motorway notebook. Since then, the company has expanded the tool to a quick clip, introducing mobile applications and the possibility of sharing public notebooks. Obviously, Google is attached to notebooklm and the featured notebooks are a new attempt to model the way the tool powered by AI can be useful.
Google says that the features in features are available for people using the Notebooklm desktop version today and that features in the star will be added in the future.
