Get hands-on with Google’s Nano Banana Pro image generator

The slope of enterprise AI seems unavoidable in 2025. From banner ads on websites to outdoor billboards, images generated by companies using AI tools surround me. Hell, even the bar down the street posts happy hour flyers with that distinctly hazy amber glow of some AI graphics.
On Thursday, Google launched Nano Banana Pro, the company’s latest image generation model. Most of the updates in this release are aimed at enterprise adoption, from Nano Banana Pro’s integration into Google Slides for business presentations to the new model’s integration with Google Ads for advertisers around the world.
This “Pro” version is an iteration of its Nano Banana model released earlier this year. Nano Banana became a viral sensation after users began posting personalized figurines and other memorable creations on social media.
Nano Banana Pro expands the AI tool with a host of new capabilities, such as generating images in 4K resolution. The trial is free in Google’s Gemini app, with paid Google One subscribers having access to additional generations.
One specific improvement is going to be catnip for businesses in this release: text rendering. Based on my initial tests generating output with text, Nano Banana Pro improves on wonky letters and strange spelling mistakes common in many image templates, including previous Google versions.
Google wants the images generated by this new model (text and all) to be more polished and production-ready for professional use cases. “Even if you have a letter, it’s very obvious,” says Nicole Brichtova, image and video product manager at Google DeepMind. “It’s a bit like having hands with six fingers; it’s the first thing you see.” She says part of the reason Nano Banana Pro is able to generate text more cleanly is the move to a more powerful underlying model, Gemini 3 Pro.
