French minister says threat of drug crime ‘equivalent to terrorism’ after Marseille murder

French ministers pledged on Thursday to use “counter-terrorism-like” methods to stamp out drug-related crime during a visit to Marseille, where the brother of a prominent anti-drug campaigner was shot dead last week. The Minister of Justice Gérald Darmanin promised more resources for the port city, citing a threat “at least equivalent to terrorism”.
