Ford recalls 1.9 million vehicles worldwide on defective reversing cameras

Ford takes advantage of his dealer empire to reorganize the way in which American companies help charitable organizations.
Ford Motor Company said on Tuesday that it recalled 1.9 million vehicles worldwide due to defective reversing cameras that could display inverted, distorted or virgin images.
The recall-which affects a range of vehicles with model years between 2015 and 2019-includes Lincoln MKC, Lincoln Navigator, Mustang, F-25, F-350, F-450, F-550, Edge, Ranger, Expedition, Econoline, Transit, Transit and Transit Connect, reported Reuters, citing a file of the National Road Security Administration (NHTSA).

“The concern implies that the reversing camera displaying a distorted, intermittent or persistent image loss,” a spokesperson for Ford Motor Company told Fox Business in an email. “This condition can reduce the visibility of a driver when saving, increasing the risk of an accident.”

The recall includes around 1.45 million American vehicles, as well as 122,000 in Canada and around 300,000 vehicles in other regions, according to Reuters.

The automaker is aware of 18 accidents related to the issue, without injuries, as well as 44,123 warranty complaints worldwide, Reuters reported.

The reversing camera problem comes from an unauthorized change by a sub-appropriateness to the printed circuit card header, which reduces the terminal contact force and leads to corrosion corrosion, the spokesperson for Fox Business told.

“The remedy implies that the dealers inspect the rear view camera and replacing it with a update part if necessary,” said the spokesman for Fox Business. “New cameras have an improved PCB header designed to prevent this problem.”
The owners affected by the recall will be informed from the week of September 22, said Ford.

The announcement follows several other reminders of the automaker. In August, the NHTSA said that more than 355,000 Ford trucks sold in the United States were recalled due to a problem with the dashboard display.
