For good, has Jeff Goldblum changed?

Jeff Goldblum says his latest role inspired a major change in his lifestyle.

The actor, who returns as the Wizard of Oz in Jon M. Chu Villain: for goodshared during an appearance on This morning that the film’s message inspired him to stop eating meat.

At 73, he reflected on the importance of playing such a powerful character at this stage of his career.

“It’s rare that you can do this over a period of time and get more fertile, juicy, interesting and relevant roles for yourself in that period of time,” Goldblum said.

Goldblum added that conversations about animal cruelty during filming had a lasting impact.

“It changed me. You know, after making this film, we talked about animal cruelty, I stopped eating meat and poultry,” he explained.

Goldblum portrayed the wizard for the first time in 2024 Wicked and will resume the role when Villain: for good arrives November 21.

He stars alongside Ariana Grande as Glinda, Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, and Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible.

The first film earned 10 Academy Award nominations, winning for costume design and production design.

Its sequel is expected to follow suit, with early buzz predicting another round of 10 nominations, including possible repeat nods for Erivo and Grande.

If both are recognized again, they will become only the seventh and eighth artists to be nominated twice for the same role.

For Goldblum, however, the project’s greatest legacy may lie in the ways it influenced him personally, from celebrating a late-career role to adopting a vegetarian lifestyle inspired by its themes.
