Five Brewers Virgins of Padres launcher, 2-0

Manny Machado dominated and five launchers combined on a four strikers while the visit of San Diego Padres opened a series of three games against the Brewers Milwaukee with a 2-0 victory on Friday.

Randy Vasquez, Wandy Peralta (3-0), Jeremiah Estrada and Adrian Morejon kept the Brewers aimless in eight heats before Robert Suarez launched the ninth for his 20th backup in 22 opportunities.

Martin Maldonado had two strokes for San Diego, who won four of his last six games.

Milwaukee has lost only the second time in his last 11 games. The Brewers were bleached for the seventh time this season while going 1 for 9 with runners in a score position with 10 runners on the left on the base.

San Diego pushed a race against Chad Patrick (3-5) in the third round. Tyler Wade struck a simple head, moved to the third on the single of Maldonado and scored on the single of Luis Arraez.

Machado started the eighth round against Grant Anderson by connecting to a 0-2 sweeper for his ninth circuit and second in as many matches. The 388 feet shot was the 351th Machado circuit of his career.

Vasquez worked in and out of trouble on 4 2/3 sleeves. He gave two strokes with four balls on balls and two stick withdrawals.

The Brewers had runners in the corners with a withdrawal in the second round, but Vasquez escaped unscathed when Caleb Durbin finished in double game.

Vasquez was replaced by Peralta by two runners and two withdrawals in the fourth round. Peralta withdrew Christian Yelich to escape jam.
