This is the moment when a Spanish fighter plane was forced to perform an evasive maneuver during an air show in Gijon.
Video sequences show the Spanish F -18 fighter flying at a low altitude, when he suddenly turns backwards – avoiding a herd of birds and rushing towards the sea, before flying.
In a press release, the Spanish Air Force said that “one of our F-18 fighter planes made an evasive maneuver by detecting a herd of birds in its trajectory”.
“This action is one of the routine protocols to preserve the integrity of the pilot and public security,” added the press release.
