FHFA director Bill Pulte suggests that Jerome Powell plans to resign

On Friday, a Trump administration official suggested that the president of the federal reserve, Jerome Powell, will plan to resign.

The director of the Federal Agency on Housing Financing, Bill Pulte – a vocal critic of Powell who supported President Donald Trump’s efforts to put pressure on the central bank in interest rate reductions – published a declaration on X and the agency’s website alluding to unpertified reports that Powell will resign.

“I am encouraged by reports that Jerome Powell plans to resign. I think it will be the right decision for America, and the economy will explode,” said Pulte.

We do not know where Pulte obtains the information he has used for the declaration and there is no other public information on the subject at the moment.

Fox Business contacted the federal reserve concerning the Pulte declaration. A spokesperson for the Fed refused to comment and refer to the many times that Powell said he intended to serve the rest of his mandate.

It is a story in development. Please check the updates.
